Jaden came home from school with a wiggly tooth. By the time we got it out his new tooth has already grown in.

07-2011 Jaden says, "Mom, look it's a daddy short leg!" Me, "You mean a daddy long leg?" Jaden, "No, it was a daddy long leg but now it's a daddy short leg" Sometimes I miss the days when he was afraid of bugs.

Jaden and his friends were digging for dinosaur bones in my back yard the other day. Although I don't appreciate the holes in my grass I couldn't ask them to stop digging.

We had a plumber come over the other day and Jaden was telling him all about his new underwear. " I got new underwear with transformers on them. They have a hole so I can go without pulling down my underwear. They're awesome!" You could tell the plumber guy felt a little awkward.

Yesterday Jaden says, "Mom, I'm like a combine" as he was eating his corn on the cob.

Kian calls all drinks Juu... I wonder when he'll learn to say drink.

Jaden was a big help decorating. I came home and found pictures hung with duck tape. He hung pictures of him in his room and our wedding picture on our wall.

Jaden very seriously asked me how the babies came out. Then he went on to explain that they came out of the boobs.

Kian now has quite an extensive vocabulary of (all done, love you, night-night, hot, cut-cut, no, hi, yes, hello, mom and dad) it seems like he is saying a new word everyday. It's crazy.

We always tell people how Jaden definitely got his daddy's long eyelashes. So one day out of the blue Jaden asks, "How do I have dad's eyelashes?" He takes everything so literally.

We were in church and we told Jaden that we need to be reverent for Jesus. He turned to us and loudly asked, "Where is he? I can't see him? Where's Jesus?"06/10/09

Jaden calls baseball hats "basebat hats"05/25/09

Jaden loves the Madagascar movies and so he is always saying, "Mom, I want to watch the Out-of-gas-car show."

I had just got done cutting someone's hair and Jaden came in while I was sweeping up the hair and said "Mom, what's that dark stuff?" Then he goes on to tell me that "daddy doesn't have any of that:)" 03/09

I was caught off guard the other day when Jaden asked me "Mom, when will I get big milks like you?" 03/09

Jaden loves to play "Pat a Bake" and "Peek a You" with Kian. 03/09

When Jaden passes gas he says "Mom, I have stinky grass" 03/09

Silly J-Bug

Jaden's nickname was J-Bug until one day he turned and said "Mom, I not Bug" Now he really gets after us if we call him Jaden Bug.

I don't know how he manages to find the dirtiest things to play in.

He loves monster trucks and sings us his monster truck song every day and the top of his lungs.

The Fun Begins

We never knew how much fun being parents could be. We love it! There is definitely never a dull moment. I didn't know how many diapers a baby required. I really think that Jaden would wait until we pulled his diaper down to play a joke on us because every time we did he would pee. We would even wait a couple of minutes and finally get brave enough to change his diaper and then Ha, Ha, he would get us again. I'll never forget the first time that Dave got sprayed on while changing his diaper. He jumped and gave this look that shouts "You've got to be kidding me." It was hilarious.

I think it was obvious who was feeding him this time. Mommy never makes this big of a mess.

Cactus, Dirt and Sagebrush

We had no idea how much cactus there could be in one little are. There was so much dirt, cactus and sagebrush everywhere. We really started to miss that green stuff that grows outside of AZ called grass. You are pretty lucky to have grass in your backyard if you live in Tucson. We did however see some of the most amazing sunsets there.

Moving to Tucson

Two weeks after Jaden was born we moved to Tucson, AZ. Dave decided that he was ready for a career change and so we packed all of our stuff and our brand new little baby boy into a U Haul and went for a very long drive. We thought he might cry the whole way but the jerky movements of the truck rocked him to sleep. He didn't make a peep.

I attended hair school from about Jan 2002 to Jan 2003. We had just finished adding a little salon into our home when Dave told me he would like to move.

Jaden, our new arrival

After being pregnant for what seemed like forever, Jaden David Knight was finally here. All I have to say is, WOW! What an experience. No one could have ever prepared me for this. Dave just kept asking the nurses, "Are you sure we don't need some kind of license or training to be able to take him home?" It was that day that I realized my purpose in this life. I can't believe how helpless these newborns are.

Jaden was a beautiful baby. Well at least we thought so. Everyone thinks their own kids are adorable, right? He was born with his daddy's beautiful blue eyes and these long eyelashes, which he definitely didn't get from me. We fell in love with him right away. I don't think we knew that we could love someone so much and so instantly. We are proud parents.

He weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Working at Wingers

I worked at Wingers Diner for about 4 yrs., starting in Provo, American Fork, and then I transferred to Cedar City when I got married. I was a FOH manager and learned quite a bit, mostly that the restaurant business can be very stressful. As you can see I worked there until a couple of days before I had Jaden. It was a little crazy running around with this big belly. I was always underestimating the size of it and running into things. I got the chance of meeting some really great people there.
